Branding

Branding applies an installation-wide organization logo and accent color to the application and sign-in experience.

Scope and access

Branding is global, not workspace-specific.

Users with Manage Settings can upload or remove the logo and change the accent color under Settings → Branding. The result is visible before sign-in and to every user, so publish only content approved for public display on the login page.

The Polygent identity remains in the sidebar footer. If no custom logo is configured, the sidebar begins with My Work instead of an empty header.

The logo is the image displayed in the sidebar header.

  1. Prepare a PNG, JPG, GIF, or WebP file no larger than 2 MB.
  2. Open Settings → Branding.
  3. Select Upload logo and choose the file.
  4. Verify it on both the sign-in page and application sidebar at common window sizes.
  5. Use Replace logo or Remove when the asset changes.

SVG is not accepted because it can contain active content. Logo upload and removal take effect immediately and are separate from Save Settings.

Use a compact image with transparent padding kept to a minimum. Test contrast in both light and dark themes; the same uploaded asset is used for all users.

Configure the accent color

The main color controls the shared accent used by navigation, controls, charts, and badges.

  1. Choose the color swatch or enter a six-digit hexadecimal color such as #2563eb.
  2. Select Save Settings.
  3. Review focus states, selected navigation, charts, badges, and both themes for contrast.
  4. Select Reset to default to restore the standard accent.

The accent does not replace semantic success, warning, or error colors. Use a color that meets your organization's accessibility requirements on light and dark backgrounds.

User theme

Theme is a per-device display preference independent of administrator branding.

Each user can select light or dark mode from the sidebar footer. Dark mode is the default, and the browser stores the choice on that device. Changing the theme does not change the global logo or accent and does not affect other users.

Security and operations

Branding assets are public to anyone who can reach the sign-in page.

  • Do not upload confidential images, internal hostnames, embedded credentials, or user-specific data.
  • Limit Manage Settings to trusted administrators because it controls public-facing installation settings.
  • Keep the approved source asset and color value in configuration management for disaster recovery.
  • Include application storage in backups so the uploaded logo is recoverable.
  • After restore or upgrade, verify branding from a signed-out browser and both themes.

Troubleshooting

Branding problems usually come from permissions, file validation, caching, or contrast.
